Would consider trade for high quality mandolin or an acoustic guitar plus cash to/from owner. If you can find one they are priced over $3500 for an original, non repaired banjo.
The banjo has been thoroughly examined and it is in great condition.Ī warmer sounding instrument than most, OME bluegrass banjos are lovely and musical, and often find favor with bluegrass, and newgrass inspired instrumentalists.
Ome just recently replaced the tone ring so its new. I am the original owner and purchased it in mid 70's. Rarely played so there is no "buckle rash" on the back. The instrument is in beautiful condition with all OME parts. OME's top-end bluegrass banjo back in the mid 1970's, the Juggernaut featured maple neck and resonator, silverspun tone ring, two-piece flange and hooks-and-shoes fasteners. Permanently sealed and lubricated geared tuning pegs, geared 5th peg, a hard shell plush lined case and a Lifetime Warranty are standard on all OME banjos. Knowledgeable use of quality materials, precision machining and careful hand polishing have given OME the reputation for creating the finest banjos available.Ī high quality laquer, hand sanded between coats, then polished to a brilliant sheen, protects and enhances the beauty of this banjo. Wood made from rich walnut with highly polished nickle plated parts.Įvery OME banjo takes several months in the making and each receives countless hours of personal care and attention. The resonator features ivory-black-ivory binding and two contrasting wood purfling rings inlayed to match the centerstrips in the hand shaped laminated neck. The ebony fingerboard, peghead and heelcap overlay are all bound with simulated ivory and the rim is capped in black. The price on this likely will cause this to sell fast and this has a hardshell case. The Juggernaut I is characterized by its distinctive scroll inlay pattern and liberal use of mother-of-pearl. This is a fantastic looking, playing and sounding banjo that has been professionally built with the best parts. The head is set to 90 on a drum dial all the way around the head. This has nice string height with correct intonation. The bridge is a Snuffy Smith with a rosewood cap. This has a new Huber frosted head and new Huber Truetone. This has been professionally set up here at the shop. The frets show light use and have no buzz. There is some minor wear on the first 5 frets or so but it is minor. There are a couple of minor button scratches on the back of the resonator that could probably be buffed out. The gold on the pot looks great and all of the wood is clean. There is a bit of wear on the armrest but nothing significant other than that. Overall the banjo is in fantastic condition. This is a fantastic price on a banjo with such good work and this includes a hardshell case. This is absolutely gorgeous and sounds incredible. The headstock is also inlaid including the OME logo.
There is inlay going up the fretboard along with dots. One side of the resonator has w/b/w binding. The fretboard and resonator each have white binding. The neck is also curly maple with an ebony fretboard. This does include the original tuners and at the moment the banjo has gold schaller d tuners. The hardware is gold with an engraved tailpiece and armrest. This has a curly maple resonator with a 3 ply hard rock maple shell. What I do know is this is an Ome 5 string flathead banjo that is gorgeous. I don’t know what year or model this is and if you do please let me know. This has been inspected and set up here at the Banjo Warehouse in Atlanta Georgia. This is a gorgeous Ome Banjo with Gold and Engraved Hardware.
